How to Install Thermoflex Pipe? You’ve worked with the FPS Onshore team to select the right pipe for your project, now what?
We’re still here to help! FPS Onshore is committed to a successful project, selection through installation. Thermoflex pipe is lightweight, spoolable, flexible, fast and easy to install. It does not even require heavy machinery or welding.
Step 1. Load Thermoflex pipe onto trailers for safe transport to the site, along with required tools and installation equipment.
Step 2. Determine the right installation method for the pressure systems.
For applications at or below 500 psi, the pipe can either be installed on the surface or buried. For applications above 500 psi full line burial is recommended.
Tips for surface and burial installations
Surface Installation -Thermoflex pipe can be usually be installed on the surface, as long as the ground is free of sharp rocks or objects that might puncture or tear the outer cover layer.
Another thing to watch out for? Make sure your pipe is not damaged by vehicles. Clear the site of excavators, large trucks, or other equipment during the operation.
Burial Installation -Thermoflex pipe is typically lighter and more flexible and than comparable RTP products. However, while flexibility makes for easier installation, it also requires careful attention.
It is important to verify soil and basic compaction during backfill to control possible upheaval buckling. This step is often skipped during construction and is critical on the high-stress application.
Step 3. Hydrotest.
