MIDLAND, TEXAS (October 10, 2017) – To assist oil and gas companies operating in extreme applications, Polyflow LLC (Polyflow) announced today the commercialization of its Thermoflex RT composite pipe product designed for high temperature applications. This is the first Aramid fiber-reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP) product capable of accommodating temperatures up to 180° F – which is critical for successful operation in South Texas, the Rockies, parts of the Permian, and other popular basins.
According to Jim Moore, Chief Executive Officer, Thermoflex RT is also capable of withstanding pressures of up to 1,500 psi. “When you combine these high-pressure features with its high temperature rating, you have a product that engineered for a wide range of applications—everything from gathering systems and flow lines, to produced water and injection wells – along with a host of applications for midstream companies that transport hydrocarbons to market adds Moore.
Thermoflex RT features a Nylon PA12 liner inside a PE-RT layer, wrapped by high-strength Aramid fibers, and an abrasion-resistant high-density polyethylene (HDPE) outer jacket. This proprietary combination makes Thermoflex RT ideal for extreme conditions, including high temperatures, high pressures, high oxidation, aggressive chemicals, and certain hydrocarbons.
Thermoflex RT pipe is manufactured in the USA at Polyflow’s Midland-based production facility.
